The general theme of the museum is the history and development of Long and Brier Islands. Includes a "home" room with kitchen range and parlour organ; transportation section showing evaluation of our ferry services and of the famous voyage of Joshua Slocum; and a marine room with "fish house" replica, models, etc. Summer exhibits change each year.

Here is a combilation of foghorns that I remember hearing during my visit to the Brier Island Lighthouse in 1973. The Foghorn was not something I will ever forget and maybe if you listen and you've been there in the past, you might recognize the horn or maybe there was another lighthouse that had a foghorn on Westport island in Nova Scotia. I know it was very loud and I remember seeing 2 black foghorns jutting out from the foghorn building.
